Age Limit & Category Relaxation Criteria
Prescribed Age Benchmark: Not exceeding 40 Years (relaxable for Govt servants and reserved categories).

Primary Educational Requirement: Degree in Law (LL.B) from a recognized University or equivalent with established Bar practice or legislative drafting experience.

Academic Competencies & Prerequisites: A member of State Judicial Service OR advocate with at least 5 to 7 years bar practice OR officer in Central/State law department with drafting expertise.
Degree Recognition: All qualifying examinations, degrees, diplomas, and technical certifications must be obtained from an officially accredited Board, Council, or UGC / AICTE recognized University.
Crucial Date for Eligibility: Candidates must have completed and acquired their final qualifying degree/diploma certificate on or before the application closing deadline (10 October 2024). Candidates appearing in the final semester whose results are not declared on or before the closing date are strictly ineligible.
Language & Technical Skills: Working proficiency in English and the official regional language of the examination zone/state is expected. Specialized computer literacy, shorthand, or typing speed certificates are mandatory wherever specified for clerical and judicial cadres.
Physical Fitness Standards: Candidates must possess sound mental and bodily health and be free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of official public duties.

Written Examination / Computer Based Test (CBT): The competitive examination evaluates candidates across General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, General English / Hindi, and Domain Technical Knowledge corresponding to the post.
Marking Scheme & Negative Marking: Objective multiple-choice question papers carry negative marking (typically 1/3rd or 1/4th deduction for each incorrect answer). Candidates must secure minimum qualifying cut-off marks in each section.
Skill / Typing / Physical Efficiency Test: For stenographer, typing, executive, and police cadres, candidates must qualify in the practical typing speed test, stenography test, or physical standards test as prescribed in the notification.
Document Verification (DV) & Medical Examination: Candidates qualifying in the written exam and skill tests will be called for biometric document verification of original certificates followed by a comprehensive medical fitness examination before final appointment.
Negative Marking: For objective multiple-choice computer-based tests, standard negative marking rules apply (typically 1/3rd or 1/4th deduction for each incorrect answer).
Final Merit List: Prepared strictly on the basis of marks scored in competitive examination stages, subject to clearing the qualifying skill test and document verification.
How to Fill Online Application Form (Step-by-Step Guide)
Read the Official Notification: Before proceeding to fill the online application form, candidates must carefully read the official recruitment notification (Advt No: 12/2026) to verify their eligibility criteria, category reservations, and required certificates.
Online Registration & Portal Access: Visit the official recruiting portal at https://upsconline.nic.in/ and click on the 'New Registration / Apply Online' link for Advertisement 12/2026.
Create OTR Account: Complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) by providing an active mobile number, valid personal email ID, father's name, mother's name, and date of birth as recorded in the 10th (Matriculation) certificate. Authenticate via OTP.
Fill Application Details: Log in with the newly generated Registration Number and Password. Enter personal background, communication address, educational qualifications, marks percentages, post preferences, and examination city choices.
Upload Documents per Specifications: Upload scanned color passport size photograph (white background, taken within the last 3 months, file size 20KB to 50KB), scanned signature (in black ink, file size 10KB to 20KB), and relevant educational, category, and domicile certificates in PDF format (file size 100KB to 300KB).
Application Preview & Verification: Thoroughly review the complete application preview. Cross-check all entered details carefully. Once the final submit button is clicked, no further modifications or corrections will be allowed under any circumstances.
Online Fee Payment & Printout: Remit the prescribed application fee through the integrated online payment gateway using Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card, or UPI. Download the payment receipt and print at least two hard copies of the final submitted application form for presentation during document verification.
