Age Limit & Category Relaxation Criteria
Prescribed Age Benchmark: 18 to 35 Years as on November 30, 2026
  • Candidates must not be below 18 years and not above 35 years as on the cut-off date.
  • Upper age relaxation of 5 years is admissible for SC and ST candidates.
  • Upper age relaxation of 3 years applies to OBC candidates with valid Non-Creamy Layer certificates.
  • Persons with Benchmark Disabilities receive up to 10 years relaxation in upper age limit.

Detailed Educational Qualification & Eligibility Criteria
  • Technical Assistant posts require a First Class Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Chemical Engineering with minimum 60% marks.
  • Technician B posts require Matriculation pass plus National Trade Certificate (NTC/ITI) in Machinist, Fitter, Electrician, or Electronic Mechanic trade.
  • Administrative cadres require a recognized Bachelor degree with typing or shorthand credentials.
  • Crucial Date for Qualification: All qualifying degrees, diplomas, marksheets, and registered certificates must have been officially passed and awarded on or before the application closing deadline (2026-11-30).
  • Recognition Standard: Degrees and certifications must be acquired from an institution or university officially recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), AICTE, NCTE, or respective statutory state/central councils.
Selection Process & Examination Pattern
  • Written Examination consisting of multiple-choice questions assessing domain engineering fundamentals.
  • Practical Skill and Trade Test of qualifying nature for candidates who clear the written cutoff.
  • Final merit ranking prepared strictly on the basis of marks scored in the written test.
  • Document verification and medical fitness assessment at the Mohali campus.
  • Negative Marking: For objective multiple-choice computer-based tests, standard negative marking rules apply (typically 1/3rd or 1/4th deduction for each incorrect answer).
  • Final Merit List: Prepared strictly on the basis of marks scored in competitive examination stages, subject to clearing the qualifying skill test and document verification.
