Application Fee & Payment Mode
General / OBC / EWS: Rs. 500/- (Rs. 400 refundable upon appearing in CBT) | SC / ST / Ex-Servicemen / PwBD / Female: Rs. 250/- (Fully refundable upon appearing in CBT).
Payment Methods: Pay the Examination Fee through Online Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, or UPI (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm). Fees once submitted are non-refundable.
Age Limit & Category Relaxation Criteria
Prescribed Age Benchmark: 20 to 30 Years as on 01.01.2027
  • Candidates must be between 20 and 30 years of age on January 1, 2027.
  • Upper age limit relaxation of 5 years applies to SC and ST category candidates.
  • Upper age limit relaxation of 3 years applies to OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) applicants.
  • PwBD candidates receive permissible age concessions as per central railway directives.

Detailed Educational Qualification & Eligibility Criteria
  • Candidates must possess a Bachelor Degree in any discipline from a recognized University.
  • Final year appearing students whose results are not declared on or before the closing date are not eligible.
  • Medical standard A-2 without glasses is strictly mandatory for Station Master posts.
  • Crucial Date for Qualification: All qualifying degrees, diplomas, marksheets, and registered certificates must have been officially passed and awarded on or before the application closing deadline (2026-11-25).
  • Recognition Standard: Degrees and certifications must be acquired from an institution or university officially recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), AICTE, NCTE, or respective statutory state/central councils.
Selection Process & Examination Pattern
  • Single stage Computer Based Test (CBT) covering General Awareness, Mathematics, and General Intelligence.
  • Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) evaluates operational vigilance and reaction abilities.
  • Document verification and comprehensive Railway Medical Fitness examination (A-2 standard).
  • Negative Marking: For objective multiple-choice computer-based tests, standard negative marking rules apply (typically 1/3rd or 1/4th deduction for each incorrect answer).
  • Final Merit List: Prepared strictly on the basis of marks scored in competitive examination stages, subject to clearing the qualifying skill test and document verification.
